College of Law - Hue University was founded as one of the five official members of the University of Hue in 1957. In 1975, the Faculty of Law stopped its training mission. On November 19, 1990, the Rector of College of Sciences - Hue University signed the Decision on re-establishment of the Department of Legislation; On January 26, 2000, the President of Hue University signed the Decision to establish the Faculty of Law under the College of Sciences – Hue University; On August 19, 2009, the Faculty of Law was established as a training institution of Hue University on the basis of the Faculty of Law - College of Sciences - Hue University.

In order to satisfy the demand for high quality legal human resources for socio-economic development and international integration of the country, on March 3, 2015, the Vietnam Prime Minister signed the Decision to establish the School of Law as affiliated member of Hue University on the basis of Faculty of Law - Hue University.

At the point of establishment in 1990, there were only 5 administration and academic staff. Currently, the college has 148 staff, of which, 03 are associate professors, 15 doctors of philosophy, 09 senior lecturers, 48 masters; 22 PhD students; It is expected that by the year 2020, the 22 PhD students will successfully defend their doctoral dissertation, which will increase the number of staff holding PhD degree to 30, improving the capacity of the staff of the college.

At present, the college has 02 professional areas, which are Law (Administrative Law, Criminal Law, Civil Law, Economics Law and International Law), and Economics Law (Contract Law, Business Law). Each year, 1,000 – 1,200 enrolled in full time programs.

In addition to full time training, the school offers continuous education such as second bachelor’s, in-service education, associate-to-bachelor’s, joint training, short-term training courses, etc. 

At the ceremony, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Van Anh, Vice President of Hue University, congratulated the College of Law on its achievements in recent years and highly appreciated the continuous efforts of the staff in building and developing the college of Law and wished the College to continue to bring into full play its achievements, leaders of Hue University to pay attention, accompany and guide closely in the activities of the college of Law - Hue University.
