Hue University and Dublin Institute of Technology, Ireland find multiple common interests (01-07-2016 08:35)

In the afternoon of June 29, at Hue University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Toan, President of Hue University warmly welcomed the delegation of Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT), Ireland.

 

Prof. Mary McNamara, Head of the Graduate Research School, briefly introduced Ireland, DIT and DIT’s areas of interests. DIT is the biggest university in Ireland with four member colleges: College of Arts & Tourism, College of Business, College of Sciences & Health, and College of Engineering & Built Environment. DIT has 150 training programs from Bachelor to Doctor. On this occasion, DIT offered doctoral and master’s scholarships to Hue University students. The proposed areas of collaborations with Hue University is quite diverse, consisting of environment & health; communications, education; new materials, etc.

 

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Toan affirmed that Hue University is also interested in the proposed areas of collaboration with DIT. Students would have a chance to receive an advanced education in the world and serve better the development of education at Hue University upon their return to Vietnam.

 

The delegation from DIT consisted of Prof. Mary McNamara - Head of the Graduate Research School, Ms. Andrea Ryan – International office and Dr. Thuy Dinh - Postdoctoral researcher. Attending the meeting, from Hue University, the other members included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quang Linh - Vice-President, Dr. Bui Thi Tam - Rector of School of Hospitality and Tourism, Dr. Ho Thi To Nga - Vice-director of Department of International Cooperation.
