In the first 6 months of 2017, in celebration of the 60th anniversary of Hue University, its member universities and affiliated units have achieved remarkable results in scientific and technological activities. The national and international conferences attracted the participation of many scientists and researchers. Most science and technology projects at all levels have been inspected and accepted. Especially, with the increasing number of lecturers, researchers and facilities and laboratories, the number of proposals for 2018 scientific and technological tasks at all levels of Hue University has increased considerably. 104 out of 119 proposals have been selected as Hue University level projects. 02 tasks under protocols, 06 national level tasks, 30 ministerial level projects, 02 ministerial level pilot production projects and 01 ministerial level scientific program have been selected and proposed to Vietnam Ministry of Education and training for the 2018 plan. Student research is also paid attention. Among 11 scientific research projects submitted to Hue University, 7 have been selected for national round.

Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Quang Linh, President of Hue University emphasized that science and technology is the backbone of a university, so Hue University has to mobilize all resources for scientific research, both human and financial. To have high quality proposals, satisfying the needs of the society, it is necessary to tighten the relation between the university, scientists and businesses to enable products to come to life. From research results, it is necessary to create breakthroughs with international publications, thereby enhancing the prestige and brandname of Hue University.

In the last 6 months of the year 2017, in addition to the annual task of management of science and technology, Hue University will focus on developing technology, intellectual property and technology transfer. At the same time, Hue University will compile and publish the list of scientific works by Hue University in the period of 2006 - 2016, including themes and projects at international, national, ministerial and Hue University levels; books and textbooks, international publications by Hue University administrative and academic staff. Hue University will prepare for the workshop on "International cooperation in science and technology in higher education institutions under the management of Ministry of Education and Training: current situation and solutions" expected to happen at the end of 2017. Regarding scientific management, Hue University will look into Hue University science and technology database, ensure new information to be updated at both Hue University level and affiliated universities and centers.
