NutriSEA Training Workshop at Hue University (22-11-2016 09:17)

From Nov 14 - 18, within the framework of the NutriSEA project, funded under Key Action 2 “Capacity Building in Higher Education” of the European Commission’s Erasmus + programme, Hue University organized 5 training workshops on various topics: international cooperation, technology transfer, pagagogics, entrepreneurship and food safety with the attendance of 100 trainees from NutriSEA partner universities in Cambodia, Myanmar, Vietnam-South East Asia. 

 

25 trainers came from NutriSEA partner universities in Europe: Ghent University – Belgium, Université Paul Sabatier, Toulouse III – France, University of Göttingen – Germany, Wageningen University – the Netherlands, University of Porto – Portugal, Campden BRI – Hungary.

 

The NutriSEA project - Network of Universities and Enterprises for Food Training in Southeast Asia - is oriented towards the food sector, which represents a large share of the agriculture in the Asian partner countries. It focusses on food-related curriculum development, the cooperation with enterprises via Technology Transfer Offices and strengthening internationalisation at partner universities in Cambodia, Vietnam and Myanmar. The long-term goal is to set up a regional food network with stakeholders from academia, business and authorities. 

 

Project lasts from 2015 - 2018. The project consists of 9 work packages focused on specific goals: Innovative training programs at bachelor / master level in food industry for six partner universities in Southeast Asia, to meet the demand of regional development and market requirements to 2018. The project will focus on improving teaching methods including the use of ICT, stronger links with businesses in determining the outcomes and providing internships.
