Joint workshop on Employability and Entrepreneurship in the framework of Erasmus Mundus Programme (08-06-2016 09:38)

 

In the morning of May 31, the joint workshop on "Employability and Entrepreneurship" was officially opened at Hue University and will last until June 2. The workshop was organized by Hue University in cooperation with Ghent University and University of Toulouse III under the framework of Erasmus Mundus Programme Action 2 (EMA2) funded by the European Community.

 

 

In his welcome remark, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Toan, President of Hue University, praised Hue University project team for actively participating in the LOTUS project. "Through this programme, faculty’s integration into international education is enhanced. Hue University’s lecturers, students have the opportunity to study and exchange professional knowledge, improve research capacity; gain experience in management of exchange of students and lecturers, credit recognition and transfer between Hue University and its partners and education reform. In the trend of extensive regional and global economic integration, the topic "Employability and Entrepreneurship" is a big concern of educational institutions, social associations and students.

 

The workshop aims to put the topic of HEI pedagogic evolution and fitting to expectations of SEA labour market on the agenda of all Southeast Asian countries; to put the topic of HEI expectation of joint EU-ASEAN supports on the agenda of EU & Southeast Asian countries; and to strive to find best practices regarding tools, procedures and responsibilities.

 

Participants are the following experts from Europe and Asia: representatives from Vietnam Ministry of Education and Training; Partners of LOTUS 3 and TECHNO 2 Erasmus Mundus projects; Academics from the Asian institutions who are involved in the University management or management of the mobility, EU experts, Local and international representatives of the labor market, professional associations of several domains, Student organisations including the Erasmus Mundus Association (EMA SEA Chapter).

 

 

The workshop hears professional insertion of EMA2 alumni when they come back home after study periods spent abroad and a diploma in their pocket, such as their looking for an employment, their chances with experience of study abroad (sometimes/often with an internship in a research lab, sometimes/often in the industry), their wages, etc.

 

Erasmus Mundus programme of the European Union on student exchange and cooperation in the field of higher education contributed to the development and modernization of higher education institutions and improvement of education policy. For the majority of these institutions, Erasmus has created innovations in key areas such as teaching and learning methods, credit recognition, student support, research as well as internal management.
