In the academic year 2016 - 2017, teachers and students of the University of Sciences have strived together to accomplish excellently the tasks set out at the beginning of the year. Being one of the affiliate universities of Hue University established in 1957, this academic year, the University of Sciences celebrated 60 years of development and construction with many meaningful and practical activities, marking the great achievements of the university. Currently, the University of Sciences has more than 6,800 students, and in 2017 the University enrolled 1,143 new students. In the last academic year, the University has 542 students graduating with excellent academic achievements and 1,072 full-time students graduating. The faculty and students of the University have been implementing 197 researches, including 13 ministerial level researches, 29 Hue University level researches, 4 provincial level researches, 33 university level researches, 7 Nafosted researches, and 111 student researches. In particular, the University has completed self-assessment and is recognized to meet the standards of higher education.

In the academic year of 2017 - 2018, the University of Sciences has set the following targets: To complete the training programs with output standards in accordance with the new situation, meeting the new requirements of the society and enterprises; To renovate examination, ensure the quality of education, build and deploy models of professional practice, raise the efficiency of practical research and interships at enterprises; improve the quality and standardize the university's staff to meet the reform requirements of higher education of the nation; To further expand the scale and improve the quality of scientific research in the direction of training, ensuring that 100% of lecturers and researchers do researches; Enhancing international cooperation in training and research to affirm the brand of the University of Sciences, Hue University at home and abroad, etc.

Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc.Prof.Dr.Nguyen Quang Linh, President of Hue University warmly congratulated and praised the achievements of the University of Sciences in more than 60 years of construction and development as well as in 2016 - 2017 academic year. The President emphasized the key tasks of the University in the 2017-2018 academic year.

 Prof.Dr.Nguyen Quy Thanh, Director of the Center for Quality Assurance of Higher Education (NU-CEA) (on the far right end) handed over the certificate on Educational Quality Accreditation to the University of Sciences. 

The University of Sciences is the third university of Hue University and the 21st out of 26 universities accredited and recognized by the Center for Education Accreditation of the National University of Vietnam to qualify for according to the national standards set by MOET.

On the occasion of the opening of the new academic year, the University of Sciences  praised and awarded the top honors students in the enrollment 2017 and graduates with high academic achievements in the 2016-2017 academic year.
