University of Tartu (Estonia) and Hue University explored more cooperation opportunities based on successful partnership (22-05-2018 10:50)

This morning, May 21, at Hue University, Dr.Do Thi Xuan Dung, Vice President of Hue University had a working meeting with the delegation from University of Tartu, Estonia led by Dr. Elo Süld, Head of Asian Centre, University of Tartu. Present at the meeting, from Hue University, were Assoc.Prof.Dr.Nguyen Thanh, Chairman of University of Sciences and Assoc.Prof.Dr.Nguyen Duy Phuong, Vice Rector of University of Law.

 

 

Hue University and University of Tartu had many years of collaration. At the end of 2013, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy opened the 18th infertility clinic in Vietnam thanks to the support of the University of Tartu and Tartu University Hospital. In August 2014, the same clinic presented their first test-tube baby, who would not have been born without the help of the doctors and embryologists of the University of Tartu. Three researchers of University of Tartu were appointed visiting professors at Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy. Starting in 2016, University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University and University of Tartu became lead partners of the project Edushare “Joint capacity building in biomedical higher education through adopting international academic standards and transferring technology between European and Vietnam universities", financed by EU Erasmus+. 

 

Dr. Do Thi Xuan Dung and Dr. Elo Süld both agreed that there are many more activities that Hue University and University Tartu can do together, including research, training, faculty exchange, especially in social science.

 

 

Also on this occasion, the delegation visited University of Sciences and Universities of Law to discuss in details cooperation opportunities.

 

 

The University of Tartu, founded in 1632, is one of the oldest universities in Northern and Eastern Europe. It is the biggest university in Estonia with 13700 students, including 1300 international students. The University of Tartu is the leading centre of research and training. The University of Tartu belongs to the top 1.2% of world's best universities (The World University Rankings 2016-17, QS World University Rankings 2016-17) and is the 5th university in the Eastern region (QS EECA 2016). It is the highest ranked university in the Baltics.
