The ecology of Truong Son range is composed of the landscape systems diversified, rich and extremely important. Many kinds of animals and endemic birds were discovered here from the 90s. In terms of socio-economy, Bach Ma National Park is the residence of tens of ethnic minority groups living in the forest or/and depending on the forest. However, this area and the national park itself is suffering such threat as illegal purchasing of wild animals and of exploiting forest trees, unsustainable developing of forest, polluting water resource due to mine exploitation and impacting of climate changes and so on. The workshop has gathered many scientific projects of bio-diversity of Truong Son Range in which Truong Son range is considered as a united and fully done management system of bio-diversity conservation. The workshop helps to strengthen the capacity of managing and conserving the biological diversity of Truong Son Range and to meet the demand of the Action Plan for Truong Son Range’s Bio-diversity in the year 2007 and of the to-be-promulgated Law of Biological diversity.

The workshop will hold the round-table meeting to reinforce the capacity of conserving the bio-diversity trans-territory of Viet Nam, Laos and Cambodia and to establish Virachey - West Am Pham - Chư Mom Ra Bio-diversity conservation Group, and to discuss issues related to the Viet Nam – Laos – Cambodia Conservation Group.
