Attending the workshop, on the side of Hue University was Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Quang Linh, President of Hue University; On the side of the Pacific Environment Limited (Australasia) were Dr. Adrian Zammit, General manager for Asia Pacific region and Ms. Nicky Lee - Principal Surface Water Scientist and Project Director. There came also representatives of relevant agencies of Thua Thien Hue province; HU’s Department of Science and Technology, Center for Incubation and Technology Transfer.

The workshop aimed to (1) discuss critical problems in the aquaculture; (2) introduce Australasia and its EnviroSuite’s real-time monitoring and forecasting capabilities in Water and Odour; (3) explore the approach of Autralasia's technology in water quality monitoring; (4) discover cooperation opportunities with Vietnamese aquaculture experts and companies to improve the quality of aquaculture.

Speaking at the workshop, HU President highlighted the importance of water environment to the development of regional aquaculture – of the local society and enonomy. In addition, there existed difficulties due to the impacts of climate change and of changes in the ecosystem quality. Therefore, the application of science and technology in water quality monitoring to deal with these problems is critical.

The software, EnviroSuite has been used by over 30 Australian, Southeast Asian, European and South American client companies. This is an integral part of the environmental management system of prestigious companies. The EnviroSuite project was launched by Quang Ninh Water Supply JSC with the task of collecting, displaying and analyzing information on water quality, flow and pressure at more than 100 sensor transducers.
