Hue University visited and signed an MoU with National Cheng Kung University (21-08-2017 05:26)

With an aim to support greater collaborations and exciting opportunities for both teachers and students, Hue University (HU) and National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) have agreed and signed an MoU on 14 of August, 2017 at the campus of NCKU in Kaohsiung city, Taiwan. 

 

The delegation from Hue University included Prof. Nguyen Quang Linh, Hue University President; Prof. Ha Van Hanh, Vice Rector of HU-University of Sciences; Dr. Nguyen Van Huy, Deputy Director of International Cooperation Department. Welcoming Hue University delegation at NCKU campus, there were Prof. Huey-Jen Jenny Su, NCKU President; Prof. Yueh-Min Huang, NCKU Vice President; Prof. Jyh-Ming Ting, Vice Dean of College of Engineering; Prof. Wei-Chou Hsu, Dean of College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences; Prof. Li-Chun Chiang from Research and Services Headquarters; Prof. Chin-Chun Tsai, Chairman of Department of Physics; Prof. Tzong-Yueh Chen, Chairman of Department of Biotechnology and Bioindustry Sciences; Distinguished Professor Chia-Chu Chen from Department of Physics; Prof. Wenkuei Chuang, Director of Institute of Microelectronics; Prof. Yueh-Heng Li, Head of International Relations Division.

 

 

The MoU signing ceremony was solemnly held at NCKU Museum. At the ceremony, Prof. Huey-Jen Jenny Su, NCKU President warmly welcomed Prof. Nguyen Quang Linh, Hue University President and other members of Hue University delegation. She emphasized the strong tie between NCKU and Hue University and believed that there would be stronger commitment from both NCKU and Hue University to support the exchange of resources, scholarship, and students. On behalf of Hue University, Prof. Nguyen Quang Linh showed his appreciation of NCKU engagement and willingness to enter the Memorandum of Understanding between the two universities, creating more chances for cooperation in research, teaching and student exchange. He also expressed his appreciation of the support from Prof. Chia-Chu Chen, Hue University honorary professor, who has been working relentlessly to build up a strong connection between NCKU and Hue University.

 

 

Following the signing ceremony, there was a discussion section between representatives from NCKU and Hue University regarding specific points of interest proposed by Hue University delegation, including the possibility of developing a joint  research center at Hue University campus, developing joint training programmes in Applied Physics and Environmental Science and Health, student exchange, staff exchange, scientific publication exchange, student doctor  internship, application of newest biotechnology research results.

 

Concluding the discussion, NCKU President and Hue University President have pledged greater commitment to further discussion and negotiation to develop  specific projects and activities to implement the MoU effectively.
