Webometrics Ranking in July 2020: Hue University is still ranked 7th in Vietnam and moves up more than 900 places in the world ranking - 13/08/2020
Cybermetrics Labs, a research group of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), announced its second Webometrics Ranking of World Universities 2020 (Version July 2020), in which Hue University moves up 918 places from 3658th in January 2020 to 2740th. Among 176 Vietnamese higher education institutions, Hue University is still ranked in the top 10 and holds the 7th position.

 

The dramatic increase in world ranking of Hue University is based on the contribution of 2 criteria of Transparency/ Openness and Excellence/Scholar. According to Webometrics, Openness is the number of citations from the top 110 scientists on Google Scholar source and Excellence is the number of articles among the top 10% most cited in 5 years on Scimago source.

 

Looking back at Webometrics rankings since 2017, global and national rankings of Hue University have been quite stable and it tends to gradually improve from January 2019.

 

In Webometrics ranking in July 2020, Hanoi University of Science and Technology ranks first among the top Vietnamese universities. The next positions are Hanoi National University, Ton Duc Thang University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Can Tho University, and Da Nang University, etc. Among the three regional universities, the University of Danang and Hue University have impressive increases in the world ranking (1635 and 918 respectively), while Thai Nguyen University has decreased (701 places) compared to the ranking in January 2020.
