Many potential cooperation areas between Finland University and Hue University (09-11-2017 09:38)

 

On November 8, Assoc.Prof.Dr.Nguyen Quang Linh, President of Hue University had a working meeting with the delegation from Finland University including Prof. Harri Melin, Vice Rector of the University of Tampere, Board member of Finland University; Prof. Seppo Virtanen, Prof. of the University of Turku; Dr. Niina Uusimäki, Head of Marketing of Finland University; Ms. Trinh Truong, Education Coordinator, Finland University. Attending the meeting, from Hue University, were Dr. Do Thi Xuan Dung, Vice President and Representatives of affiliate members of Hue University: University of Pedagogy, University of Economics, School of Tourism and Center for Continuing Education.

 

 

The working visit was the first significant step in the follow up of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed between Finland University and Hue University in the presence of Vietnam and Finland ministers of Education and Training in the working trip to Europe in August by the President of Hue University. 

 

 

Prof. Harri Melin and A/Prof.Dr. Nguyen Quang Linh both agreed that Finland University and Hue University have many similarities. Finland University and Hue University are both located at green and safe locations, which is suitable for study and research. Both universities offer multidisciplinary training and focus multidisciplinary research. The dual degree training programs are highly potential when both of University of Finland and Hue University have experience in implementing joint training programs with foreign partner universities. The two universities discussed in detail and found potentials for cooperation in the areas of Information Technology, Language Teaching, Teaching Methodology, etc.

 

 

On the occasion of the visit to Hue University, the delegation organized Finland University Scholarship Day. Prof. Harri Melin informed that Finland University strongly encourages foreign students to apply. Finland University annually grants 40% of its scholarships to international students, 50% of which is tuition waive, and the other 50% is full scholarships including living expenses in Finland.
