Hue University and Gifu University, Japan signed cooperation in human resources training and research (13-11-2018 15:57)

On November 12th, at the working meeting between the leaders of Thua Thien Hue Province and Gifu Prefecture, Japan, at the meeting hall of Thua Thien Hue Provincial People's Committee, President Nguyen Quang Linh of Hue University and President Hisataka Moriwaki of Gifu University, signed a cooperation agreement in various fields: joint research activities, joint training programs, student exchange, faculty exchange, joint participation in internationally funded projects, etc. In the presence of Mr. Phan Ngoc Tho - Deputy Secretary of the TTH provincial Party Committee, Chairman of TTH provincial People's Committee, Head of TTH provincial parliamentary delegation; Mr. Cai Vinh Tuan - Member of TTH Provincial Party Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of TTH Provincial People's Council; Mr. Hujime Furuta - Governor of Gifu Prefecture; Mr. Yoshiaki Bito - Chairman of Gifu Prefecture People's Council; and 29 other members of Gifu Prefecture high-level delegation.



The high-level delegation of Gifu Prefecture included Mr. Hajime Furuta, Gifu's Governor; Mr. Yoshiaki Bito - Chairman of Gifu Prefecture People's Council, Mr. Hisataka Moriwaki - President of Gifu University, Chair of Gifu and Viet Nam Friendship Association; Mr. Michihiro Kunishima - Mayor of Takayama City and 27 other delegation members who are chairs of Gifu associations, managers of several Gifu banks, Director and staff of Gifu Prefecture Foreign Affairs Department, etc.


Since Gifu Prefecture and Thua Thien Hue Province set up cooperative ties in November 2016, they have organised regular exchanges and meetings. Many enterprises from Gifu came to look for investment opportunities in Thua Thien Hue. Takayama City of Gifu Prefecture and Hue City signed a memorandum of cooperation while Gifu University and Hue University also established cooperation in academic research and training quality improvement. Notably, a working group including members from the two provinces was established to coordinate the implementation of current programs and propose more specific programs in tourism management and promotion; conservation, management and promotion of heritage values as well as human resource training, etc.


Speaking at the meeting, President Nguyen Quang Linh of Hue University highly appreciated the support of leaders of Thua Thien Hue Province and Gifu Prefecture for the rapidly developing cooperation between Hue University and Gifu University. The two universities have had several discussions and in the coming time will discuss the action plan to achieve the highest results, especially in the fields of agriculture and tourism. Hue University has prepared human resources to work with Gifu University and Takayama City.



Gifu Prefecture is located in the central part of Japan, covering an area of 10,621 km², a population of 2,069 million, administrative center is Gifu City. Gifu Prefecture has a diverse economy that attracts a large number of foreign workers. At present, there are about 6000 Vietnamese workers in Gifu Prefecture. This is also the destination of many Vietnamese students which is behind China in number but increasing rapidly. 


Gifu University is a national university in the city of Gifu, Gifu Prefecture, Japan. Gifu University has 6 faculties, including Faculty of Education, Faculty of Regional Studies, School of Medicine, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Applied Biological Sciences, Faculty of Agriculture and 8 schools, including Graduate School of Education, Graduate School of Regional Studies, Graduate School of Medicine, Graduate School of Engineering, Graduate School of Agriculture, United Graduate School of Agricultural Science, United Graduate School of Veterinary Sciences and United Graduated School of Drug Discovery and Medical Information Science.
