Dr. Do Thi Xuan Dung, Hue University Vice President, and Mr. Dao Manh Thang, Deputy Director of the National Agency for Science and Technology Information signed the handover minutes of Science Direct database.

Leaders of the Department of Organization, the Department of Planning and Finance - Ministry of Science and Technology; Leaders of the Department of Library, National Library Vietnam - Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Leaders of the Departments of Science and Technology of the provinces; Leaders of Universities and Colleges; Delegates from 68 public libraries, university libraries; and Dr. Do Thi Xuan Dung, Hue University Vice President attended the conference.

At the conference, delegates listened to the summary report of the Vietnam Library Consortium on e-resources in 2019-2020 and discussed the plan in 2020-2021.

Also at the conference, representative of the National Agency of Science and Technology Information and leader of Hue University signed the handover minutes of Science Direct database. Hue University is the 5th unit right after the two National Universities, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, and the Department of Science and Technology are granted the open access database which provides more than 2,500 journals and 26,000 e-books.

After the signing ceremony, Dr. Do Thi Xuan Dung expressed her gratitude towards leaders of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Thua Thien Hue province, the National Agency of Science and Technology Information for their support to Hue University to access information resources for training and research. This resource will facilitate the scientific research and technology transfer of Hue University and enhance the roadmap for development of Hue University into a National University according to the Resolution 54 of the Political Bureau and the Resolution 83 of the Government.
