Increasing QS Asia University rankings: Hue University is realizing its goal to develop into a National University (30-11-2020 10:01)

On the afternoon of November 25, 2020 (Vietnam time), the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) has announced the QS Asia University rankings 2021, in which Hue University reaches to the group 401st - 450th of Asia and holds the 6th position among 11 Vietnamese higher education institutions. Therefore, compared to the 451st and 500th positions in the two rankings of 2019 and 2020, Hue University's ranking is gradually increased in accordance with the development strategy and goal of Hue University into a National University in 2020, and 300th position in Asia ranking in 2025.

 

The overall indicators related to the ranking in the table below indicate the steady increase of Hue University through the last three QS Asia University rankings.

In July 2020, Hue University's position in Webometrics ranking has also moved up more than 900 places compared to the previous ranking, holding the 7th position in Vietnam. This time Hue University raises its ranking in QS Asia University ranking.

 

The coming years are important years for Hue University in the progress of developing into a National University, Hue University has to achieve groups 351st - 400th and 301st - 350th respectively in order to reach the top of 300 of Asia.

 

Some information about the QS Asia University rankings 2021

* The number of ranked higher education institutions is 634, increase of 93 compared to QS Asia University rankings 2020.

* The major locations represented include China (124 universities), India (106 universities), Japan (98 universities), and South Korea (85 universities).

* For the third subsequent year, the National University of Singapore (NUS) remains the first in Asia.

* There are 93 new entrants overall this year, mostly from Japan, India, South Korea, and Pakistan. Six of them secured ranks in the top          250.

* Among 11 ranked Vietnamese higher education institutions, there are 3 new entrants such as Hanoi Pedagogical University, Industrial          University of Ho Chi Minh City, and the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City.

* This time, the positions of the two National Universities, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, and Can Tho University decrease,          while the positions of Ton Duc Thang and Duy Tan universities increased and the University of Danang keeps the same position compared to the ranking 2020.

 

 

QS Asia University Rankings has been used by QS since 2009; Using indicators and weightings are slightly different from the global QS World University Rankings based on regional characteristics.
