Meeting with Kyoto prefecture, Japan

In the morning of November 22, 2013, the meeting between Hue University and Japan’s Kyoto prefecture took place at Hue University. Mr. Keiji Yamada, Governor of Kyoto prefecture as a leader, Mr. Hisao Taga, Chairman of Kyoto prefecture’s Council as a Deputy leader along with members in Kyoto prefecture attended the meeting. They were received by Assoc.Prof. Nguyen Van Toan, President of Hue University, Dr. Truong Quy Tung, Vice President of Hue University and representatives from departments and colleges of Hue University.
At the meeting, the two sides discussed possibilities of developing joint training programs, joint research programs in the fields of environment, medicine, law, tourism, and staff and student exchanges.
Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Van Toan thanked the Kyoto prefecture for helping Hue University in many fields and hoped that the Kyoto prefecture would support Hue University to develop an international university through the cooperation between Kyoto University and Hue University.
In the afternoon, the delegation had the meeting with Thua Thien Hue province. Two parties signed the joint statement on the establishment of friendly and cooperative relations between Thua Thien Hue province and Kyoto prefecture. The two sides committed to strengthening the relations for mutual benefits while respecting each locality’s characteristics, exchanging information and cooperating in education-training, preservation of cultural values, tourism and trade.
