For a Warm Vietnam New Year holiday for HU students from Laos
(23-01-2017 08:15)
In the morning of 23.01.2017, representatives of leadership of HU Department of Student Affairs, on behalf of Hue University visited and presented gifts to Laotian students who are staying at the dormitory of Thua Thien Hue Junior College of Teachers Training.
HU currently has 345 Laotian students pursuing their studies at HU’s member colleges and faculties. Although Vietnam is not too far from Laos, there are a number of students staying over Vietnam Tet festivals because they want to stay to learn more about this new environment or spend vacations on further study and practice. Most of the students staying during Vietnam New Year holidays are self-funded or Thua Thien Hue Provincial People's Committee fellowship.
With the tradition of solidarity, HU leadership wants to create a warm Vietnam New Year festival for the students away from home. Although the gifts do not have significant material value, do contain great spiritual values, illustrating concern and hospitality of HU leaders to the students, helping them to alleviate homesickness. On this occasion, HU Department of Student Affairs wished good luck, health and happiness to the students on the occasion of the Vietnam New Year, especially commitment for good study results.
