At Ghent University, a strategic partner of Hue University in VLIR, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Toan reviewed the achievements which the two universities have gained together in the past 5 years in Erasmus Mundus projects (LOTUS I, II, III and Unlimited), Erasmus+ (NutriSEA), especially VLIR-IUC; and other VLIR projects such as VLIR-NETWORK, VLIR-NSS.

HE. Vuong Thua Phong, Vietnam Ambassador to Belgium attended the reception.

The two universities exchanged ideas and briefed each other on the activities of VLIR-IUC program and its positive effects on the development of Hue University and Thua Thien Hue province. Besides, feasible bilateral cooperation in the future was also discussed in detail, such as the construction of common entrepreneurship businesses in the field of fisheries, and research and consultancy in building the National Biotechnology Center at Hue University.

On this occasion, the delegation visited biotechnology research facilities of Ghent University and the University of Hasselt and explored cooperation possibility in the near future.
