TrainIQA is part of the DIES programme (Dialogue on Innovative Higher Education Strategies) which aims at strengthening higher education management structures in developing countries. DIES is jointly coordinated by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the German Rectors’ Conference (HRK) and supported by funds of the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). TrainIQA aims at preparing QA officers to become multipliers in the field of internal quality assurance (IQA) at their universities. TrainIQA course not only strengthens national capacities in the field of QA, but also promotes exchange and networking among higher education institutions (HEIs) and various stakeholders at regional level.

The workshop consists of 5 modules, put together by leading experts in education quality assurance and higher education governance from Europe and South East Asia, which are held from November 2014 to February 2016 in 4 countries: Germany, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand with 5 topics: Effective Quality Assurance and Change Management; Tools and Procedures of QA; Curriculum Design and Revision; Data-based Information Management; Quality Assurance and its linkages to Higher Education Management.
