Mobilizing and connecting resources, implementing the project to develop the Institute of Biotechnology, Hue University (08-06-2021 16:18)

On the afternoon of June 3, 2021, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Van Phuc chaired an online conference to finalize the plan for the 2021-2025 period to implement the Project to develop the Institute of Biotechnology, Hue University according to Decision 523/QD-TTg dated May 14, 2018, by the Prime Minister. The representatives of relevant departments and agencies of the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of Science and Technology, universities and research institutes in the Central region, and the Central Highlands attended the conference. Hue University participants were Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Standing member, the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of Thua Thien Hue Provincial People's Committee, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quang Linh, President of Hue University.

 

 

“The project to develop the Institute of Biotechnology, Hue University” was approved by the Prime Minister according to the Decision No.523/QD-TTg dated May 14, 2018, with the overall goal of developing the Institute of Biotechnology, Hue University to become a national biotechnology center in the Central region.

After 3 years of implementing the Decision, the Institute of Biotechnology, Hue University has achieved many remarkable results through scientific and technological activities, training, and international cooperation.

 

The Institute of Biotechnology, Hue University proposed the relevant ministries and units to assess the current status and develop solutions to allocate budget capital for regular expenditures and stable human resources of the Institute of Biotechnology, Hue University in the period of 2021-2025.

 

At the conference, leaders of universities and research institutes appreciated the development of the Institute of Biotechnology, Hue University that met the development needs of the Central and Central Highlands regions. Based on existing experience and capacities, the units would focus on building mechanisms, policies, and models for cooperation, policies for enterprises and investors; developing strong interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary research groups from many different localities and units.

 

 

At the end of the conference, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Van Phuc affirmed that there should be better solutions, focusing on effectively implementing tasks and projects to develop the Institute of Biotechnology, Hue University. Moreover, it was necessary to accelerate institutional and policy frameworks, development models, autonomy schemes, and promote the central role of the Institute of Biotechnology, Hue University. Together with the assessments and comments from relevant units, the detailed plan for the 2021-2025 period would be completed that effectively implementing the Decision 523/QD-TTg dated May 14, 2018, by the Prime Minister.
