Guidelines to assess online thesis defense and end semester examinations (08-06-2021 09:45)

On June 3, 2021, Hue University issued guidelines to assess online thesis defense and end semester examinations basing on Official Dispatch No. 2077/BGDDT- GDDH dated May 20, 2021, by the Ministry of Education and Training on the organization of learning and teaching, semester-end and enrolment during Covid- 19 pandemic; Guidelines No. 384/HD-DHH dated March 22, 2021, by Hue University on the assessment of online master’s and doctoral thesis defense.

 

Assessment of online thesis defense 

 

In case that it is impossible to organize a face-to-face thesis defense, heads of institutions will decide to allow students to defense virtually upon being qualified for online defense as stipulated in Article 9 of Circular 08. The examining board will include at least 03 members.

 

Institutions publicly declare a detailed plan for online defense including schedule and necessary guidelines on their portals. Students, board members, and participants allowed to join in are also informed at least 5 days prior to the defense date.

 

The online defense will be recorded and archived in accompanying with students’ documents.

 

Assessment of online end semester examinations 

 

Institutions must have a detailed plan for online end semester examinations and inform students of schedule, testing time, and testing methods. 

 

Online assessment is conducted when institutions ensure honesty, equality, and sense of objectivity the same as the traditional face-to-face assessment.

 

Online assessment software

 

Online assessment software must be selected as warned at Official Dispatch No. 250/CATTT-VNCERT/CC dated April 14, 2020, by the Authority of Information Security- Ministry of Information and Communications.
