Professor Jerome Isaac Friedman, who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics, will visit and speak at Hue University (22/7/2008) (24-07-2008 06:50)
On July 22, 2008, Professor Jerome Isaac Friedman, who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1990, will come and speak at Hue University.

Accompanying Professor Friedman are Professor Bone, Director of National Engineering University of Val de Loire; Professor Tran Thanh Van, Chairman of Rencontres du Vietnam; Professor Kim Ngoc, chairman of AEVN; Mr. Do Trinh Hue, former Dean of the French Department of the College of Pedagogy, Representative of Rencontres du Vietnam; Mr. Ham Chau (Journalist) and Ms. Tran Thao Ly (Secretary).

The Professor and the delegation will meet with the directorial board of Hue University and will deliver a speech to lecturers, researchers and students as well as others who are interested in his experience in physics and the decisive elements that has enabled him to achieve the Nobel prize. The title of the speech is The Road to Nobel.

Time: at 15 pm on July 22, 2008

Location: the main hall of Hue University, 3 Le Loi, Hue city.

Professor Friedman is one of three professors who won the Nobel Prize (together with Professor James Cronin, Chicago University; and Professor Norman Ramsay, Harvard University) who have agreed to sponsor the children’s SOS village in Dong Hoi, Quang Binh. On this occasion, the delegation will also visit 12 houses with more than 90 orphans at the children’s SOS village.

This is a great honor and an important scientific event for Vietnam, Hue City, and Hue University. Hue University would like to invite lectures and students to this talk to learn and share experiences with the Professor about the related interests.
