The lecturer of Faculty of Architecture, University of Sciences, Hue University won the Silver prize of the National Architecture Award 2016 (26-05-2017 10:41)

In the evening of April 21st 2017, the Vietnam Association of Architects, Vietnam Ministry of Construction, Vietnam Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in collaboration with the People's Committee of Da Nang City held the awarding ceremony for the winners of National Architecture Award 2016. This is the most prestigious award in the field of architecture of Vietnam held once every 2 years in even years.

In the evening of April 21 2017, the Vietnam Association of Architects, the Ministry of Construction, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in collaboration with the People's Committee of Da Nang City held the awarding ceremony for works that were awarded at the National Architecture Award 2016. This is the most prestigious award in the field of architecture of Vietnam, held every 2 years in even-numbered years.

 

 

There were 120 applications in 16 categories: housing, public works, industrial projects, planning projects, architectural publications, excellent works in Vietnam by foreign architects, etc. The board of the National Architecture Award 2016 decided to offer 04 gold, 13 silver and 13 bronze prizes. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Tung - lecturer of Faculty of Architecture, University of Sciences, Hue University and his co-authors (Hirohide Kobayashi from Kyoto University, Nawit Ongsavangchai from Chiang Mai University and Prof. Miki Yoshizumi from Kyoto University), won the Silver prize (no Gold prize) with the book titled “Transformation and conservation of traditional garden houses in Hue citadel area, Vietnam" in the architectural publications category. This can be said to be the pride for the Faculty of Architecture, University of Sciences, Hue University in particular and Hue Architects in general.

 

 

The book is the research result of more than 10 years by the co-authors on the transformation of traditional garden houses located inside Hue Citadel under the impact of various factors such as economic development, flood, population growth, etc. The co-authors, then proposed recommendations and solutions for the sustainable conservation of traditional garden houses in modern life.
