The ceremony was solemn with many traditional custom such as splashing water, tying the wrists with threads, etc. Everyone wished each other good health, good luck, success on the occasion of the new year and joined the traditional dance of Laos.

Also on this occasion, the Lao Consulate-General in Da Nang, Vietnam decided to award certificates of merit to more than 40 Laos students pursuing their study in Hue for their outstanding achievements in the academic year 2015-2016

The music performances by the students from Laos, Thailand, Hue University and Thua Thien Hue province's border guards after the ceremony were magnificent and typical.
