At the meeting, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Quang Linh, President of Hue University, gave an introduction to Hue University, a multi-disciplinary university with 8 member colleges, 2 faculties and 1 branch. With a history of 60 years of establishment and development, Hue University has been well implementing the mission of training high quality workforce for the Central Vietnam and Vietnam's Highlands. The President recalled previous cooperation between Hue University and Marche Polytechnic University and wished to expand cooperation in faculty and students exchange between the two universities in the common strong areas.

Prof. Mario Giordano thanked for the warm welcome of the President of Hue University and hoped that Hue University and Marche Polytechnical University could together develop a plan to train students and instructors in the Food Processing, Marine Life, Economics and Fisheries Engineers. In addition, Prof. Giordano hoped to cooperate with Hue University to build a large-scale marine research institute in the Central Vietnam to study and develop alternative solutions to climate change. He believed that the two universities can jointly organize a workshop with the participation of leading marine ecological and oceanography experts of the two countries to draw public attention to the marine environment in Vietnam.
