Student of Faculty of Environment, University of Sciences awarded Vietnam Environment Award 2017 (07-06-2017 16:37)

On May 10, 2017, the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment signed the Decision No.1055/QD-BTNMT on the awarding of Prizes and Certificates to organizations, individuals and communities with excellent achievements. Accordingly, Nguyen Huu Long, a student of class K37, Faculty of Environment, University of Sciences, Hue University, was one of 15 individuals awarded.

 

 

The Vietnam Environment Award is an official award offered by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to organizations, individuals and communities that have made outstanding achievements in the cause of environmental protection.

 

The award is presented every two years in order to encourage environmental protection movement, contributing to sustainable socio-economic development, introducing typical examples on environmental protection, and spreading the patriotic emulation movement in the field of environmental protection.

 

The Vietnam Environment Award consists of three main categories: For organizations, For individuals, and For communities. The number of prizes does not exceed 50 for all the three categories and is awarded on World Environment Day.

 

This year, 2017, after two rounds of selection, the Organizing Committee selected 50 out of 129 applicants (including 34 organizations, 15 individuals and 01 community) that were awarded by the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment. The applicants which received lots of awards were in the fields of production, business, service, education and training, environmental science and technology, communication, propaganda in raising awareness on environmental protection.

 

The closing ceremony of the Vietnam Environment Award 2017 will be held solemnly and broadcasted live on national television channels at 8p.m on June 20, 2017, along with other activities in response to World Environment Day on June 5 in Vung Tau City, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province.

 

Nguyen Huu Long is an outstanding student of the Faculty of Environment in learning, joining social works, and especially in "hunting" successfully scholarships and grants to participate in training courses and projects. In particular, in 2015, the project "Taking SODIS to upland" by Nguyen Huu Long among more than 470 projects from all over the country by nearly 1500 student participants, was highly judged, and selected into the top 6 projects and funded 50,000,000 VND to realize in the annual summer volunteer campaign.
