Hue University and La Trobe University, Australia signs an MOU

On March 15, 2011, Assoc. Prof Nguyen Van Toan, Hue University President had a meeting with Prof. John Rosenberg, La Trobe University ProVice-Chancellor. La Trobe University is one of leading universities in teaching and research and internationally well-known for its academic excellence and innovation. La Trobe was ranked as one of the world's top 100 universities by the Times Higher Education Supplement (UK) in 2005. The University was also ranked among Australia's top 10 universities in 2006 and among Victoria's top three universities in 2007 by Shanghai Jiao Tong University Index.
With a safe and supportive learning environment, La Trobe has more than 26,000 students. Among them, there're about 4,500 international students from 90 countries. The number of the University's staff is about 2,700. La Trobe University always plays importance on cooperation with Vietnam. At the meeting, Prof. Rosenberg and Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Van Toan signed the MOU. Under this agreement, La Trobe and Hue University will set up some cooperation programs such as joint training program in strong fields of the two universities, staff and student exchanges, training development in association with scientific research and promoting joint research programs.
