Spiritual tourism combined with charitable activities, a new meaningful tour of School of Tourism and Hospitality - Hue University (18-10-2018 10:32)

Hue City has long been known as the capital of Buddhism of Vietnam. Buddhism has deep roots, creating an enduring spiritual and cultural space which has developed alongside the life of the people of Hue. With its unique and diverse cultural and spiritual heritage, Hue cultural and spiritual tourism has the potential to develop strongly in the following forms: religious tourism, pilgrimage tourism, spiritual tourism in combination with charitable activities. After the official launch of Educational Tours, School of Tourism and Hospitality - Hue University launched a new tourism product "Spiritual tourism in combination with charitable activities".

 

 

Visiting pagodas creates the feeling of relaxation, peace for tourists

 

The model of spiritual tourism in combination with charitable activities has attracted the attention of a large number of visitors to Hue City because of its humanity and good deeds. Visitors will be introduced to visit pagodas and to experience in the activities like playing with and helping orphans and handicapped children at social protection centers, gardening at buddhist temples, etc. This form of tourism brings great spiritual and human values and serve the need for experiencing new things.

 

Initially, School of Tourism and Hospitality - Hue University introduced two tours for visitors to choose:

 

Option 1: Pick up visitors. Take visitors to Duc Son Pagoda, where 192 orphans and disabled children are raised; visit the pagoda, visit the caring space for orphaned children, caring space for children with disabilities and caring space for poor children; play games with the children or do gardening, pick vegetables, cut grass, etc.; Support Duc Son pagoda by having a vegetarian meal with children instead of eating at restaurants or hotels, or by giving gifts (books, clothes, milk, cereal powder, etc.) to the children. Return to the original pickup location. 

 

Option 2: Pick up visitors. Take visitors to Linh Mu Pagoda and Literature Temple at Hue City. Then, take visitors to visit Duc Son Pagoda. Go sightseeing the pagoda, visit the caring space for orphaned children, caring space for children with disabilities and caring space for poor children; play games with the children or do gardening, pick vegetables, cut grass, etc.; Support Duc Son pagoda by having a vegetarian meal with children instead of eating at restaurants or hotels, or by giving gifts (books, clothes, milk, cereal powder, etc.) to the children. Return to the original pickup location.

 

Lecturer Nguyen Thi Ngoc Cam, School of Tourism - Hue University, said that this is a very attractive and unique tourist product of the school. The tour is a good opportunity for the students of the school to practise. The tour is beneficial to the community, especially young people. Lecturer Nguyen Thi Ngoc Cam added that she would continue to study and find more potential places for spiritual and charity tour to in order to diversify destinations, tours and create more attractions.
