U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam pays a work visit to Hue University (06-03-2015 07:35)

In the afternoon of February 5, 2015, Prof. Nguyen Van Toan, President of Hue University, hosted a reception for Mr. Ted Osius, U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam, and his entourage. U.S. Consul General Rena Bitter and Mr. Alexander Titolo, Public Affairs Officer, were among the delegates.

At the meeting, Prof. Nguyen Van Toan briefly presented the fruits of the partnerships between Hue University and U.S. universities and organizations for the past years. He thanked the U.S. government, organizations and universities for funding projects and international training and exchange programs. Prof. Nguyen Van Toan hoped that the Ambassador would continue to bolster the cooperation between U.S. universities and Hue University in the time to come, and to create opportunities for Hue University’s lecturers and students to study in the U.S.

U.S. Ambassador Ted Osius highly appreciated the positive outcomes of mutual ooperation and confirmed that the U.S. government has always expected to promote cooperation with Vietnam in education, science and technology. He pledged himself to foster the relations between the U.S universities and Hue University, and make the ties more effective and practical.

On the same day, Ambassador Ted Osius had a meeting with Hue University’s staff, lecturers and students. He reviewed the progress of bilateral relations for the past twenty years and openly discussed political, economic and educational issues.
