At the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Le Anh Phuong welcomed and highly appreciated the visit of the delegation of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research of Germany at Hue University. In recent years, Hue University and German organizations and universities have had collaborated in various fields such as medicine, agriculture, biotechnology, and language. Hue University has participated in many programs and projects to enhance capacity within the framework of the Erasmus+ program funded by the European Union, including collaborations with many German universities in technology transfer, international cooperation, lecturer and student exchange…. Many Hue University lecturers have received scholarships to participate in postgraduate training programs in Germany, and have returned to work at Hue University. Annually, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) cooperates with Hue University to organize meetings with DAAD alumni and introduce DAAD and its scholarship programs.

The delegation of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research of Germany hoped to develop cooperative relationships with Hue University in areas of mutual interest.

Hue University President hoped that in the future, both sides would enhance research cooperation and international publication activities in the fields of sustainable development, climate change adaptation, medicine, biotechnology, digital transformation, smart cities, and smart universities, and establish exchange programs, collaborative training programs, credit recognition programs, internship programs for students, scholar exchange programs, innovative startup programs, and remote training programs.

On the same day, the delegation of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research of Germany visited the University of Medicine and Pharmacy and the University of Science, Hue University. On April 25, 2023 the delegation will participate in a seminar within the framework of the research project sponsored by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research of Germany, "FloodAdaptVN - Integrating ecosystem-based approaches into Flood Risk Management for adaptive and sustainable urban development in Central Vietnam". This project not only supports the development of flood risk reduction strategies and their integration into management activities in Thua Thien Hue province, but also promotes exchanges between relevant parties in the region. This forum connecting this region is the first event in a series of events aimed at creating conditions for dialogue between representatives of central provinces in Vietnam and supporting the transfer of research results from the FloodAdaptVN project outside the research area.
