This time, 32 students, who were awarded scholarships, are from families with difficult conditions but have good academic achievements from 5 member universities of Hue University, including: University of Medicine and Pharmacy, University of Education, University of Economics, University of Science, University of Agriculture and Forestry. Each scholarship is worth 300 USD. These students will continue to be awarded VESAF scholarships until graduation if they continue to prove their excellent academic performance in the following years.

According to donor representatives, from now until August 2019, the current scholarship receivers will be considered to receive scholarships for the 2019 - 2020 academic year based on their academic performance, behavior and family circumstances. Newly admitted students in the academic year 2019 with difficult family circumstances will also be considered to be awarded VESAF scholarships.

VESAF’s goal is to provide educational and social assistance to impoverished, underserved communities in Vietnam. Education is one of the four areas that VESAF is currently focusing in. The activities include providing merit-based scholarships to underprivileged students, and funds to schools to improve access to education.
