VLIR-IUC Conference themed “Discussion on University Governance and Autonomy”

The Conference themed “Discussion on University Governance and Autonomy upon Law No. 334/2018/QH14 and Decree No. 99/2019/ND-CP” took place on the morning of June 09, 2022, in the attendance of leading representatives of the Provincial Propaganda and Training Commission, Hue University, national higher education institutions, Association of Vietnam Universities and Colleges; experts from Ghent University (Belgium), experts on higher education and managing staff of Hue University’s member, subordinate and affiliated units.

The Conference aimed to create a forum for national and international policymakers, managers, experts, teachers, and scientists in order to discuss the practical situation in promoting autonomy in higher education, especially after the issue of Law No. 34/2018/QH14 on the Amendment Law of some articles in the Law of Higher Education and Decree No. 99/2019/NDCP stipulating specifically and guiding to implement some articles in the Amendment Law of Higher Education. Participants analyzed and clarified some difficulties met during the process of autonomy performance. After that, ideas and solutions were proposed for university autonomy so as to create favorable conditions for the development of higher education, meeting the demand of high-quality human resources towards innovation and international integration.
