President of Hue University paid a visit at Hawaii University, the United States (14-03-2008 07:21)
Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Van Toan, the President of Hue University paid a visit and worked at  several universities of California and Hawaii, the United States from February 27 to March 6, 2008.  Assoc. Prof. Bui Duc Phu – Director of Hue Central Hospital and Assoc. Prof. Huynh Dinh Chien – Director of Hue University Learning Resource Centre also joined the delegation.

The delegation visited the Library of California University at San Jose.  With the modern architecture, the Library is the combination of university library and community library. This module has shown its high effects on providing information for local community as well as the staffs and students of the university.

At Hawaii University, the delegation worked with Kapiolani Community College.  The President of Hue University signed the cooperation memorandum on training nurse staffs with degree awarded by KCC.  The president of Hue University also signed the Memorandum on cooperation between Hue University and Hawaii University.  The signing ceremony took place in the formal and solemn atmosphere with the participation of delegations from two universities.

The delegation also visited some training and education organizations and institutes such as John Burn Medical School and Distance Learning Center of Hawaii University, Chaminade University.

Especially, during the visit, the delegation was warmly welcomed by Vietnamese community at Honolulu and then participated their new-year-meeting organized by East-West Center. This is the annual activity aiming at creating favorable conditions for Vietnamese living, studying and working at Honolulu to meet and exchange information.  As a result, it strengthens the bond among oversea Vietnamese.

The Presidents of Hue University and Hawaii University are signing the Cooperation Memorandum.
