The General Ambassador of Israel in Viet Nam visited and worked at Hue University. (25-03-2008 10:50)
On March 18, 2008, Mr. Ephraim Ben Matityau, The General Ambassador of Israel in Viet Nam paid a visit to Hue University. Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Van Toan and Representatives from Offices of Administrative and International Cooperation received the Ambassador. This is The General Ambassador’s first visit to Hue University. One of the purposes of the visit is to create potentiality for cooperation in the future.

Mr. Ephraim Ben-Matityahu stated at the meeting that the friendly relationship between Viet Nam and Israel is much more improved on various fields.  Specially, the economic relationship between the two nations is constantly boosting during the last time.  Many corporation of Israel have invested into Viet Nam, in which there are many big contracts.  In addition, many cooperation on different fields between two nations are found such as education and training, medical and diplomacy.  Also, there are many scholarship programs with short-term training for Vietnamese students from Israel in such various fields as education, methodology, medical, environment, community development, especially, rural and agricultural systems and advanced technology.  Students in Israel can study and practice as well as have chances to get access with achievements of sciences.

The Ambassador Ephraim Ben-Matityau also paid much attention on activities of charities and community development at remote areas in Viet Nam.  He held several tours of free examine for the poor and disable in many provinces all over Viet Nam.

Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Van Toan introduced to the Ambassador about the development, the training missions of Hue University as well as its potentiality of cooperation with Israel in the future.  The President Nguyen Van Toan highly appreciated the kindness and interests of the Ambassador on Hue University. The President does hope to receive the assistance and cooperation on various interested fields of the two sides in the future.
