Since 1996, Hue University College of Economics and the University of Rennes 1 have developed the partnership in short training courses and staff exchanges. In 2005, two universities agreed to build a dual bachelor’s degree program in Finance and Banking. In 2007, the first cohort was implemented.

Thanks to the program, students and staff of Hue University College of Economics had opportunities to exchange experiences, link training programs and improve teaching and learning methods. Prof. Guy Cathelineau appreciated the success of the program and hoped that two universities would continue the cooperation in other fields.

After the signing ceremony, Hue University College of Economics hosted the entrance ceremony for the sixth cohort (2012-2016) and conferred degrees to 13 students of the second cohort (2008-2012) of the dual Bachelor’s degree program in Finance and Banking.

Prof. Guy Cathelineau, President of the University of Rennes 1, France also paid a visit to Hue University, accompanied by Prof. Durant, Ex-Vice President of the University of Rennes 1. They were received by Dr. Truong Quy Tung, Vice-President of Hue University. The signing of MOU for the next 5 years emphasized the quality and prospect for many new programs in the future.
