On September 21, 2012, Hue University and Okayama University co-hosted the entrance ceremony for the sixth cohort of Master's Program in sustainability of rural and environmental system.
The Ceremony received Prof. Araki Masaru, Okayama University Vice President, Prof. Nguyen Van Toan, Hue University President, Dr. Truong Quy Tung, Hue University Vice President, lecturers and 8 new students.

After 5 years of implementation, the joint training program has gained good results.  There have been 24 students graduated from the first three cohorts. Some of them are continuing their Doctoral study in Japan or receive Vietnam's Government-funded PhD scholarships, while the others are working back at their home towns effectively with their trained specialty.

On this occasion, both Prof. Araki Masaru and Prof. Nguyen Van Toan appreciate the success of the program and hope that two universities will continue the cooperation in other fields such as medicine, pharmacy, economics, Vietnamese and Japanese cultural exchanges, etc.

“At Okayama University, students have chance to study and conduct experiments in laboratories under the supervisors’ instructions. I have to work hourly in labs every day, take part in discussions to perform my research results. Professors and Japanese friends not only support enthusiastically me in my study but also help me explore the beauty of the country of cherry blossom” said by Do Thi Thu Trang who graduated from the third cohort and is going to Japan in October for PhD training at Okayama University.
