Friendship Delegation from New Haven City, America paid a visit to Hue University (21-06-2010 16:36)

On June 8, 2010, the New Haven City Friendship Delegation headed by Ms. Barbara Lamb, the Director of Culture Department, and the Chairperson in charge of friendship cooperation between New Haven City and world-wide cities, visited Hue University.  The Vice-President of Hue University, Assoc. Prof. Le Manh Thanh received the delegation.

 

The visit aims to tighten the 15-year friendship and cooperation between New Haven City and Hue City.  Also, with the commission of the President of Yale University, she expressed the desire to work out the potentials of cooperation areas between the two universities in the coming time, especially in Urban Planning and Architecture.

Assoc. Prof. Le Manh Thanh stated that Hue University has set up the cooperation with some universities in America and now, he expressed his desire of starting the cooperation between Hue University and Yale University as well as other universities in America.  He also said that human resource in the area of Architecture and Urban Planning is still insufficient in Hue City at present, therefore, it is essential to seek for the cooperation on these fields.

The visit will put a firm step for the potential cooperation between Hue University and Yale University as well as other universities in America.

On the same day of June 6, 2010, a delegation from Nakhom Phanom University, Thailand headed by Prof. Suwit Laohasiriwong also paid a visit to Hue University and discussed the cooperation between the two universities in the field of Hospitality.

Both Hue University and Nakhon Phanom University have the Faculty of Hospitality with similar sub-majors.  This is the background for the cooperation as well as the academic exchange between the two universities.  After this meeting, Hue University gave the authority to the Faculty of Hospitality of Hue University in working directly with Nakhon Phanom University to carry out exchange activities in training, researching and students exchange.
