A joint training and research program on Computational Science between Hue University and Kanazawa University (14-04-2010 13:43)

From 27th February to 8th March 2010, the delegation of Hue University including Prof. Dr. Le Van Thuyet - Director of Office for Postgraduate Training, Assoc.Prof. Dr. Tran Dao Dong - Director of Office for Science and Technology and Dr. Hoang Huu Hanh - Director of Office for International Cooperation paid a visit to Kanazawa University, Japan for  discussions about joint training and research programs on Computational Science in order to specialize a cooperation agreement between Hue University and Kanazawa University.

Based on the previous memorandum of agreement between the two universities, after one week of discussion, two universities agreed to develop joint Maste's and Doctoral Programs on Computational Science.  Degrees will be granted by Kanazawa University. These programs are based on the Project 322 of the Government with the support of Kanazawa University. The first enrollment will tentatively start at the beginning of 2011. Kanazawa University will also open a liaison office at Hue University.

During the visit, the delegation also met with the President, VicePresident forPostgraduate and International Cooperation, and Rector of Postgraduate School of Kanazawa University. In those meetings, the President wanted to have cooperation on medical staff exchange because Kanazawa has a College of Medicine which is one of the oldest universities of Japan and will organize a 150-year-anniversary celebration in this year.

The results of the visit are to create many possible cooperation programs on training and education between the two universities in the upcoming time and to improve quality of human resources in Hue University as well as in the region.
