Implementing the Protocol project between Hue University’s College of Sciences, Vietnam and Marche Polytechnic University, Italia (21-06-2010 15:24)

On June 14, 2010, the Vice-President of Hue University Assoc. Prof. Le Manh Thanh and the Rector of Hue University's College of Sciences Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Van Tan had a meeting with the delegation from Marche Polytechnic University.

Hue University's College of Sciences and Marche Polytechnic University have set up the cooperation since 2000.

In 2009, Vietnam Ministry of Science and Technology approved the proposal on the preservation of Van Thanh, Vo Thanh vestiges at Hue City.  There are 5 professors from Marche Polytechnic University participating in the research.

The objectives of the project are to build up data for the restoration of the vestiges in the research area, to rebuild the architecture and the scenery of the research area using the 3D technology, to establish the architectural data management system using the GIS system, to build the data document and the scientific background for the preservation and restoration of Van Thanh Vo Thanh vestige.

The suggestions from Professors of Marche Polytechnic University are to analyze the historical situation of the vestige, to carry out the research on calamity-affected areas in order to indicate its influence on the vestiges, to build a map with detailed information of the research areas and so on.

Other related issues such as the Cham tower system, Tam Giang Lagoon system and the water level of Huong River at Hue City were also mentioned at the meeting and they are recommended to be further researched.

The participants of the meeting are experts and lecturers majoring in Architecture, History, Geography-Goelogy, and Environment from both Hue University's College of Sciences and Marche Polytechnic University.  Many essential issues were discussed at the meeting in order to reach an agreement on the Protocol Project between the two universities.
