Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quang Linh, Hue University President, and the Chairman of Thua Thien Hue Provincial People’s Committee Phan Ngoc Tho chaired the meeting.

At the working session, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Phan Ngoc Tho affirmed that Resolution 54 (dated 10 December 2019) of the Political Bureau on building and developing Thua Thien Hue province to 2030 with a vision to 2045 was the cross-cutting objective of Thua Thien Hue province and Hue University. For the development of Hue University, Resolution 54 clearly stated such contents as the building of a high quality multidisciplinary and multi-field center based on developing Hue University as the National University, the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University in the national “University - Hospital” model and towards the international standard, the development of science and technology, etc.

In the report on Hue University construction and development in accordance with Notice 38/TB-VPVC dated 24 January, 2018 by the Office of Government and Notice 275/TB-UBND dated 10 October, 2018 by Thua Thien Hue Provincial People’s Committee, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quang Linh Hue University President revealed that Hue University was making an effort to become a research-oriented National University. For the past period, Hue University has strived to reconstruct Hue University and its member universities in a lean and effective manner and simultaneously reconstruct industries, enhance training quality, boost up scientific research, and technology transfer.

Hue University and Thua Thien Hue Provincial People’s Committee have had a lot of cooperation programs, especially specific programs in the Comprehensive Implementation Project of Cooperation Activities with the province in the period 2019-2021. At the session, the leaders of Hue University and its member universities proposed fields and contents of cooperation that Hue University had strengths on multidisciplinary and multi-field human resources, serving Thua Thien Hue province’s work of socio-economic, cultural, medical, educational, tourism, agricultural and rural development.

Chairman Phan Ngoc Tho mentioned some development norms in the period 2021-2025 and emphasized the position and role of Hue Univesity in the provincial development. The provincial leaders acknowledged the ideas and proposals of Hue University and its member's universities. The leaders promised to direct departments and sectors for an effective collaboration to build and develop Hue University and the province in conformity with proposed objectives.
