The 12th Entrance Ceremony of Okayama-Hue International Master's Program (10-09-2018 07:45)

In the afternoon of September 7, 2018, Hue University in collaboration with Okayama University, Japan held the 12th Entrance ceremony of Okayama - Hue International Master’s Program in Sustainability of Rural and Environmental Systems (cohort 2018-2021). Attending the ceremony, from Okayama University, were President Makino Hirofumi of Okayama University, President Matsuida Hisashi of Ryobi Holdings Co.,ltd and professors involving in the program. From Hue University, there came President Nguyen Quang Linh, Vice President Do Thi Xuan Dung, heads of departments, program alumni and 8 new students.

Hue University President Nguyen Quang Linh expressed his thanks to the leadership, professors, staff from Okayama University and from Hue University and last but not least to sponsors from Okayama Association of Corporate Executives.

 

President Makino Hirofumi of Okayama University stated his happiness to see that the two universities both enjoyed the success of the relationship. He urged the new students to study intensively and make friends with Japanese so that they can become bridge between Vietnam and Japan, tighten the relationship between Okayama University and Hue University.

President Matsuida Hisashi of Ryobi Holdings Co.,ltd, on behalf of Okayama Association of Corporate Executives, sponsors of the program confirmed that his company would continue to give 2 scholarships every year as it did in the past 11 years.

 

Implemented since 2006, this joint training program has entered into its 12th year. The program is designed to integrate the multi-disciplinary methodology of natural and social sciences for sustainable development. The curriculum of the program focuses on regional environmental management and sustainable agricultural development, which are becoming significant concerns worldwide.

 

Up to now, 72 students of the program graduated with outstanding results. Among them, 48 students got scholarships to continue to pursue PhD degrees in Japan and other countries. 

 

Every year, the program selects and enrolls 8 excellent students from different provinces of Vietnam. The study period is 2.5 years. After completing 1 year program at Hue University, students will study Japanese for 6 months and prepare for their research papers before coming to Okayama University for 1 year research. They will be granted Master’s degrees by Okayama University.

 

Okayama University, established in 1949, is a national university in Japan. The main campus is located in Tsushima-Naka, Okayama Prefecture, Japan.
