Great effort for exchanging activities in education and culture between India and Vietnam at Hue University (27-10-2009 10:32)

On the visit to Thua Thien Hue Province on October 26th 2009, Dr. Jitendra Nath Misra, the Indian Consulate General in Vietnam had an official meeting with Vice-President of Hue University,  Dr. Le Thanh Son, and representatives from each functional offices and college members of Hue University

It can be said that the relationship between Hue University and universities in India has been established for a long time.  For instance, Hue University's College of Foreign Languages has sent its staffs to India for training and doing research in English language in India.  Also, Hue University's College of Foreign Languages has signed the cooperation contract with Vietnam-India Center in Da Nang.  Through this cooperation, some Indian professors have been invited to give the lectures to students at Hue College of Foreign Languages.  However, this relationship still have not been enhanced much like its potentials.

At the meeting, Dr. Jitendra Nath Misra offered many proposals related to the possible fields of cooperation between the two sides.  He, especially, focused on some of the dominant issues such as scholar exchange, post-graduate scholarships, and cultural activities.

The meeting has revealed many good signs of cooperation between Hue University and universities and organizations in India.  In order to boost the cooperation, it is essential to carry out some activities at Hue University such as exchanging scholars, inviting scholars to give lectures to students, opening the Study of India as a part of International Studies at Hue College of Foreign Languages and holding seminars on Indian culture.

After this meeting, many specific plans and projects will be build and implemented in the future.
