Hue University has set up the cooperation with Okayama University since 2006. The joint-training International Master program on "Sustainability of Rural and Environmental Systems" is one of the pioneering program in the fields of Environment and Agriculture between a Japanese university and a Vietnamese university.  Since 2007 up to now, the program has selected the total of 24 master students for three courses, in which 8 students of the 1st course has been transfered to Okayama University for the last year.  The students of the 2nd and the 3rd course are studying at Hue University. Okayama University has sent professors and lecturers to Hue University annually to co-operate with H.U lecturers in every subject  of the program.

Last October 22, Okayama University solemnly held the 60th anniversary of the university establishment. The 5 invited international universities namely Guam University (America), Kasetsart University (Thailand), Sungkyunkwan University (Korea),  Northeast Normal University (China) and Hue University (Vietnam) representing for more than 150 global universities having the cooperations with Okayama University attended the ceremony. The ceremony received the attendance of the Leaders, the former lectureres and students and the Leaders of Okayama University. Prof. Chiba Kyozo, President of Okayama University gave the congratulation speech.  H.U President Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Van Toan had the honor to represent the 5 invited international universities to deliever the congratulation speech at the ceremony. 

On this occasion, President Nguyen Van Toan had discussion with the Presidents and Vice-presidents of invited international universities.  Also, President Nguyen Van Toan had received the invitations by four global universities to visit and to work at their universities in the near future.  The President expressed his delights to accept the invitations.
