Cooperation in training, scientific research, and postgraduate training

On May 12, 2017, the University of Law, Hue University, and Champasak University of the Lao People's Democratic Republic had a meeting and discussed cooperation activities related to training and scientific research.

After the meeting, 03 candidates from the law agencies of the Lao PDR participated in 2018-2020 Master of Laws in Economic Law.

In 2018, the University of Law, Hue University granted postgraduate training scholarships including tuition fees, accommodation, travel costs for 02 lecturers of the Faculty of Law and Management, University Champasak to participate in 2018 – 2020 Master of Laws in Economic Law.

After studying directly at the University of Law, Hue University, 5 Laos students registered their thesis topics. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it was impossible to hold their thesis defense meeting in Vietnam. On August 24, 2020, the University of Law organized an online dissertation committee for 5 above-mentioned students.

In 2018, the two universities also organized a scientific conference on law between Vietnam and Laos. Based on these results, the University of Law, Hue University, and Champasak University continue to strengthen scientific cooperation and expand the scales of training in the coming years.

Cooperation in Bachelor’s of Laws 

Until the academic year 2019 - 2020, 71 Laotian students have studied the 4-year undergraduate program at the University of Law, Hue University. Most of the students come from the Central provinces of Laos such as XêKong, Champasak, Khammuon, Savannakhet, etc. Moreover, in 2019, 94 Lao students completed the Dong Hoi Intermediate School of Law training program and continued to register for the university transfer program at the University of Law, Hue University.

International cooperation activities between the University of Law, Hue University, and organizations, individuals of the People's Democratic Republic of Laos have achieved many outstanding results in recent years. After completing the Bachelor of Laws degree and coming back to Laos, many Laotian students have been recruited into Laos State agencies.

In the following years, the University of Laws, Hue University continues to promote joint training activities with Laos universities to open international disciplines on Master of Laws, Bachelor of Laws directly in Laos, and enhance student exchange activities, scientific research, and technology transfer.
