The digital mission offered Canadian and Vietnamese institutions an opportunity to build and deepen relationships and identify new opportunities for cooperation between Canada and Vietnam. Canadian universities participating in this mission were the University of Toronto, York University, the University of Waterloo, and the University of Winnipeg.
On November 23, 2021, the first day of the mission was the stage for collaboration with presentations from Canadian and Vietnamese higher education institutions and a focus on international research collaboration. At the first session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quang Linh, Hue University President gave a speech on Hue University introduction, cooperation projects between Hue University and Canadian institutions, and proposal for cooperation with Canadination institutions. The second day focused on international research collaboration and the third day would be dedicated to business-to-business (B2B) opportunities for Vietnamese participants to engage with Canadian institutions.
While the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent restrictions continue to disrupt international travel, Canadian and Vietnamese universities keep developing relationships to strengthen the social and economic ties between the two countries.
