Entrance Ceremony for the fourth cohort of Okayama-Hue international Master’s Program (28-09-2010 07:56)

On September 17, 2010, Hue University and Okayama University co-hosted the entrance ceremony for the fourth cohort of Master's Program in sustainability of rural and environmental system. Prof. Katsura Tatsuo, Okayama University Vice President and Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Van Toan, Hue University President were among the attendants. 8 new students are admitted to this cohort.

The Okayama-Hue International Master's Program is based on the integration of different teaching methods in natural and social sciences with environment, economy and society being the research focus. The program concentrates on  sustainable environmental management and agricultural development.

This program spans two and a half years. For the first year, all students are required to attend at least 10 courses. Before their study at Okayama University, students are taught Japanese, and they also have to prepare for their research papers. Upon completion of one and a half year at Hue University, students will finalize their study at Okayama University, where they will be granted Master's degrees.

Up to now, there have been 8 students graduated from the first cohort. Among them, two are continuing their Doctoral study in Japan, three received Vietnam's Government-funded PhD scholarships, while the others are working back at their home towns effectively with their trained specialty.
